RetroGameCon 2020 Cancellation:

We waited as long as we possibly could to try to see if the situation would change enough for us to be able to go ahead with the event.

We know how disappointing this is, and nobody is more disappointed than the RGC team. Conventions are a bright light in our lives and 2020 was set up to be a great year for RGC. Cancelling is not a decision we take lightly, and even though we are resolved to carry on in 2021, this is a big loss for us with so much invested into the con already this year.

This announcement may be frustrating to hear for some, and we understand. It is tough to have to make this decision when Syracuse and New York have been on a general upwards trajectory for the past month. However, with Syracuse cancelling events through November, and the ban on large-scale gatherings still in effect for an indefinite amount of time, this is the decision we must make in the interest of being responsible and keeping attendees safe.

Vendors & ticketholders: You will be receiving an e-mail from us within the next few days. Please make sure to check your spam folders. We will be refunding tickets, but are automatically carrying over vendor spots to the 2021 show. We hope that most vendors will be able to carry over their payments to next year. If you are unable to, please talk to us and we'll do our best to take care of you.

We know how important RGC is to so many people, and we are incredibly grateful and humbled by how many people look forward to the con each year. Rest assured that behind the scenes, we will be taking this pause to work on building an even better event for 2021, hopefully with the same awesome guests, with multiple smaller events throughout the year. We are specifically working on a brand new event in Syracuse for Spring 2021, which we are very excited to talk about soon.

We will also still be fundraising for Extra Life and Children's Miracle Network, specifically our local hospital's COVID-19 Relief Fund. Details on digital fundraising events will be released soon.

Stay safe and we will see you on the other side of this!
